Biographie
Andreas Natsch studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology from 1988 – 1996 and got his PhD in environmental microbiology. After postdoctoral studies in molecular biology at the Centro Nacional de Biotecnologia in Madrid in 1997, he moved to the research department of Givaudan in 1998. In the current position as Senior Research Fellow, his main research focused on in vitro assays to study toxicological risks and mechanisms without using animal testing. This work contributed to the approval by the OECD of six new test guidelines. The most recent focus of his laboratory is on the development of methods to study olfactory receptors (OR) in vitro. With a novel method of OR expression developed by the team, the specificity of human olfaction for different odor percepts can be studied for the first time
